The Bicester Navigator: a guide to the best of Bicester

There is a lot more to Bicester than retail heaven, but its designer outlet, Bicester Village, really has put it on the map. The area's many picturesque villages include Lower Heyford, with its wharf on the Oxford Canal, and Kirtlington, home to an international polo ground.

Superb gastro pubs abound, and days out include the National Trust's Waddesdon Manor - a Loire Valley-inspired chateau - and the renowned gardens at Stowe, by Capability Brown, and Rousham, by William Kent. Aylesbury and Buckingham in Buckinghamshire both have highly-regarded grammar schools.
